Abstract

|
The Lachman test has been used as one of the most effective methods to detect injury of the ACL, especially in case of isolated injury. Difficulty has been encountered in grasping the distal thigh and proximal tibia in case of large girth of the
leg of
the patient. Authors described a new technique to overcome that difficulty, and named it "prone Lachman test".
In this technique there was no need to grasp the leg with hands. The thigh was stabilized on the table and the lower leg was held surgeon¢¥s elbow. Anterior translation of the tibial condyle would be achieved with powerful pushing with plam. We
concfluded that this technique was useful and effective.
